PBW 19: Fund Raising Concert
by SassyMom on Jan.31, 2010, under People, Pixel Bug Weekend
The highlight of our weekend was our attendance to a fund raising concert. I must admit that in all of my blogs I try not discuss politics. The main reason is that I believe that people have different views and I want to respect that as much as I want people to respect my political views. However at times, one has to make a stand.

The fund raising concert was dedicated to the members of the Magdalo group who are seeking local positions in this coming local elections. Just like my BIL, the Senator, these people does not have the money and the machinery to fund their campaign hence they need an event such as this.
After fighting for what they believe in and being detained, they plan to take the fight in another arena, in the hope that they can bring the much needed change for our country. As stated in their Party Resolution…
“while observing democratic processes and observing organizational discipline, we have, more importantly, expressed profound hope for genuine national development through our support of political leaders that embody this hope for change;
The event was well attended by family and friends. It was hosted by Marc, a DJ from Love Radio and Marissa Sanchez. It was an enjoyable evening! I am hoping the best for these people.

Although I said I will upload this project in batches of five, but this batch will have 6 photos to include the 31st of January.
26/365 – Year of the Tiger figurine – Although I am not Chinese, I respect the more famous festivities of our Chinese brothers especially the Chinese New Year. This coming year is the Year of the Tiger hence this figurine. I have since collected figurines representing the different Chinese Zodiac Calendar.
27/365 – Chinese Boy holding a coin. This one was a gift for my brother. It’s supposed to bring good luck!
28/365 – I got the MS Office 2010 Beta from the Microsoft event I attended. I love the new features especially the Power Point transitions. Oh, how I wish I am still a trainer now, I sure could put this to use.
29/365 – Another famous Chinese icon is the Chinese lantern. Every time I visit China town anywhere, I love how this lantern brings life to a place especially during special celebrations.
30/365 – Fund raising ticket from the event I attended last Saturday. Need i say more?
31/365 – My daughter loves to doodle. Even when she writes on her diary/planner, she uses several colored pens such as these.
Litratong Pinoy : Plano
by SassyMom on Jan.27, 2010, under Litratong Pinoy
(Who didn’t dream of owning a house? Here is one of the plans that my hubby made for one of his clients. We also plan and dream of having a house. With God’s grace, I know that He will our prayers.)

PBW 18: Playful Kids
by SassyMom on Jan.24, 2010, under Kids, Pixel Bug Weekend
If last week was an unusually relaxing one, this weekend was the exact opposite. It is the start of a hectic schedule for me. We ventured into another business and hopefully this one would work out well. However, this Sunday, I bought the whole family with me and made sure to go home early to relax and bond with the kids.
I just enjoy looking at them having loads of fun together, even if sometimes it annoys me especially when they get physical with each other. I just have to accept that kids are naturally playful. My teenage daughter, who has her moods nowadays was unusually kind to his brother — they usually get into each other’s nerves
But this time I was able to document their playfulness and I had fun!

And of course, this is me jumping in to join the fun.

Project 365 : batch 4
by SassyMom on Jan.20, 2010, under Project 365
On my 20th day, and they say to make it a habit, you only need 21 consecutive days. I am hoping that this becomes a habit of mine.
16/365 – Turon also known as banana fritters is my all time favorite snack.
17/365 – A Swarovski Crystal, a gift that we received two Christmases ago.
18/365 – My son’s MJ gloves, part of his costume during his Family day.
19/365 – These are the stuff you can see on my desk. I love an organized desk, it makes me work with a clear mind. That’s why I am happy to have found a desk organizer from Papemelroti.
20/365 – My Phone’s “I AM NINOY” Collector’s item – Hubby gave this to me so I can have a second line. This is a Q21 Duo – a mobile that has dual SIM. I would have given up my existing phone but sadly this one does not have WIFI.
PBW17: My son in the kitchen
by SassyMom on Jan.17, 2010, under Kids, Pixel Bug Weekend
My weekend was a relaxing one, very different from the weekends I had during the holidays. I welcome this kind of break.
The highlight would be me teaching my son for his show and tell. It was before their Christmas break that he asked me to give him something for this project in school. I immediately told him to do his favorite Oreo Cake Box.
Sunday was the date we set for his hands-on experience. Since he needed to bring a finished product, I asked him to do the cake by himself, so he’ll know what to do and say during the show and tell. Of course, I was there with him along the way …

I wish him luck! I know he will do well and I am so proud that my son knows his way in the kitchen.
After that, I managed to get an appointment for a much need massage at home.
I hope to see how all your weekend went.

Project 365 : batch 3
by SassyMom on Jan.15, 2010, under Project 365
A welcome challenge is what this project brings to me. I have to fight the urge to pass and start clicking…
11/365 – I still have some these M&M’s halloween edition– a gift from a friend abroad. I always like to have a stash of chocolates inside the fridge. I’m a certified chocoholic- it’s truly my comfort food.
12/365 – I got rid of my kid’s stuffed toys by giving it to the victims of the recent typhoon. This one is new — a gift my kid received last Christmas.
13/365 – I was with my son in the park … this flower was the one that caught my eye.
14/365 – Lindt is one of my favorites when it comes to chocolate. That’s why I can’t resist asking one from my daughter when her godmother gave this to her. Yummmm!
15/365 – Conti’s Sans Rival – best tasting sans rival for me. I got this to celebrate my son’s grades. He did a good job!
