PBW 19: Fund Raising Concert
by SassyMom on Jan.31, 2010, under People, Pixel Bug Weekend
The highlight of our weekend was our attendance to a fund raising concert. I must admit that in all of my blogs I try not discuss politics. The main reason is that I believe that people have different views and I want to respect that as much as I want people to respect my political views. However at times, one has to make a stand.

The fund raising concert was dedicated to the members of the Magdalo group who are seeking local positions in this coming local elections. Just like my BIL, the Senator, these people does not have the money and the machinery to fund their campaign hence they need an event such as this.
After fighting for what they believe in and being detained, they plan to take the fight in another arena, in the hope that they can bring the much needed change for our country. As stated in their Party Resolution…
“while observing democratic processes and observing organizational discipline, we have, more importantly, expressed profound hope for genuine national development through our support of political leaders that embody this hope for change;
The event was well attended by family and friends. It was hosted by Marc, a DJ from Love Radio and Marissa Sanchez. It was an enjoyable evening! I am hoping the best for these people.

this is great, the bad thing about elections is the need to have a big money for campaigns.. hay naku dapat ibahin na ang system ng pangangampanya.. kawawa naman kasi yung mga walang funds diba.. Nwei i know the magdalo group, and i think meron talaga sila pinaglalaban.. goodluck to them =)

Isn’t that the group that caused stir on peace situation from previous years? If I can remember correctly, I was suppose to visit my wife there in the Philippines but the military were not allowed to go there because of the situation.
Anyhow, here’s my PBW entry, Fun with Pap

Concerts for and with a cause are always best. What I like about this one, people know that they didn’t steal the money unlike some politicians. Hmm. I’m praying for just and peaceful elections this year.

I have strong political views but I rarely make it a topic it in my blog. For some reason I prefer a face-to-face discussion about it. Anyway, how’s Marissa Sanchez? She hosted one of our company events before and she was really funny.

Alternatives can be gold mine too, instead of our usual roster of candidates.
Sana nga change will come soon.
