PBW23: Dart Tag Party
by SassyMom on Feb.28, 2010, under Pixel Bug Weekend, Sports and Recreation
Boys are so into the toy called NERF nowadays. It’s basically a gun for kids with darts as bullets. Initially, I am so against buying toy guns for my boy, but seeing how safe it is to play plus his close friends all have it. It’s the mother’s soft heart that made me agree to buy this toy for his birthday.
But one cannot enjoy this alone, you need to play it with friends. Fortunately, his classmate decided to have a “Dart Tag Party”. The kids were so excited to attend. It was an intimate party held at their residence.

It was one of those moments that you get to see the boys sweat and play, which I believe is good for their generation. Since most of them can stay in front of the computer, TV or console game the whole day, this kind of play is a refreshing change. Reminds me of how filthy we get every time we play outside when we were kids.
Well, of course did have their own kind of enjoyment while the kids are at play.

It was already night time when the kids decided to rest for awhile but still play

My daily regimen

PHOTOHUNT : DAILY
These are all part of my daily regimen. I love to moisturize my skin, experts say that’s the secret to younger looking skin. With no preference on the labels, I always put on a moisturizer on my face every morning before I go out and then body lotion. At night, the regimen for my face is to cleanse, tone and moisturize. Before bedtime, I keep my lipbalm, eye cream and hand cream in handy.
The skin is the largest organ of our body and we need to take care of them

Husay sa Pagaw ng Pottery
by SassyMom on Feb.24, 2010, under Litratong Pinoy, Philippine Travel, Travel
Husay (Skillful)
PBW22: My birthday boy!
by SassyMom on Feb.21, 2010, under Pixel Bug Weekend, Special Occasion
It was the celebration of my li’l man’s birthday this weekend. Nothing grand, we just watched a movie of his choice and ate out after. One thing we have made our kids understand is that they cannot have a party every time they celebrate their birthdays. I believe it’s better like that so they do not get frustrated.
We watched Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief together with their friend – who is like part of the family.

The kids enjoyed their usual movie house snack — popcorn, and my boy’s fave — nachos!

After the movies, we decided to have a late dinner.

Happy Birthday to my dearest boy! May the Lord continue to guard and protect all the days of your lives! I love you, my dear son!
How did your weekend go?

47/365 The pawn is probably the weakest piece in the game of chess. However it can advance all the way to the opposite side of the board which promotes it to another piece of that player’s choice of a queen, rook, bishop, or knight of the same color. My kids love to play this game, they got it from their father.
48/365 Ebi Tempura, aside from sushi and maki. This is one of my favorites when I eat in a Japanese restaurant. Taken during an event at Yoshinoya.
49/365 Although I am not very fond of pizza, this Four Cheese pizza is truly tempting.
50/365 Being a Catholic, the presence of the Blessed Virgin Mary is always welcome at home. This statue will be in our home for a week as part of the Block Rosary. Together, as a family, we will pray the holy rosary everyday during her stay.
51/265 The Mime Artist at Metrowalk. Yes, this is a real person, not a statue. I also though it was a statue until I notice that his hand was already shaking

42/365 My favorite quote from St. Francis of Assisi.
43/365 Stargazer Lily — flowers are everywhere especially during Valentine’s Day…
44/465 This Jollibee mascot really has a character, he even posed for me
45/365 Love is patient, Love is Kind, Love envies no one…..
46/365 Getting fruity — everyone seems to be health conscious nowadays, even my teenage daughter. She requested to include more fruits in the grocery. I just can’t complain
PBW21: Renewal of Vows on Valentine’s day
by SassyMom on Feb.14, 2010, under About Me, Married Life, Special Occasion
This weekend is a very special weekend as we celebrate two events in one day. Chinese New Year and Valentine’s both falling on the same date. Although, we are not Chinese, I am one in greeting our Chinese brothers, “Kung Hei Fat Choi!”
As for me and hubby, Valentine’s Day was never a big deal for us. Being married to a person who is not “as showy” when it comes to demonstrating his love and affection does not really bother me at all. I have come to accept my husband for whatever he is. The most important thing is that I know deep in my heart that he truly loves me.
However, as we heard mass this Sunday, our parish had a very cute way of celebrating Valentine’s Day. They called all the married coupled and conducted a “renewal of vows” ceremony. It was like getting married once again. How mushy can that be

“I renew my vow to you, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish till death do us part, according to God’s holy law.”
To my hubby (who I know seldom reads my blog posts), I would like to say “Thank You!” – for the love and respect you have showed me throughout our married life. For supporting in all my endeavors. For being my strength when I am down. For all that you are and all that you wish to be, I LOVE YOU!
I hope you all had a meaningful Valentine’s day! and Happy Chinese New Year!
