PBW34 : Anniversary Weekend

by on May.16, 2010, under About Me, Married Life, Pixel Bug Weekend, Special Occasion

It’s our wedding anniversary and being mindful of the times, we decided to commemorate our union as simple as possible. After our usual Sunday morning mass, we decided to head out to Shangri-la and check out Rustan’s Fire Sale. There’s nothing much on sale so we decided to buy some stuff for the kids.

We ended up drooling at Frostings Cupcakes and grabbed one for each of us….

A late lunch at Fish and Co. was in order. Pardon my photo collage, I tried not to include myself (but decided otherwise) since my face is still bloated as an effect of steroids. I have been prescribed to take the meds for my heat rash which is all over my body.

Knowing that my family is happy and all in good health is enough to celebrate our blissful union everyday. I thank the Lord for the bond that he has given me and my hubby and I pray that it will become stronger as the years pass.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

PBW32: A reunion of sorts

by on May.02, 2010, under About Me, Family Get-Together, Pixel Bug Weekend, Special Occasion

It’s MIL’s birthday and it was a mini reunion for my hubby’s family. Coming from a very small family, I truly appreciate gatherings like these where you get to touch base with your relatives. Honestly, I was not able to take a lot of photos because I was busy attending to visitors and because of the paralyzing heat.

Cousins-in-law with my daughter….

Of course, the kids will always enjoy console games while the adults are chit-chatting

PBW27: Earth Hour and Mom’s Bday

by on Mar.28, 2010, under About Me, Family Get-Together, People, Pixel Bug Weekend

We spent Earth Hour at our friends house. It was a welcome change from the usual stay at home since the kids get to enjoy the company of other kids and enjoy global action to change. It was like camping under the moonlight. Here are the kids enjoying the food as they await the lights off.

Kids await the time

They played with glow sticks and ate all night long. It was truly an enjoyable night with close friends as we do it for a worthy cause.

Sunday was the day we celebrated my Mom’s birthday by checking in one of the nearby hotels. The kids had a blast as they go in for a dip in the pool with my sister.

We ended the night by having dinner at Arya Persian Restaurant.

PBW26: Friends get-together

by on Mar.21, 2010, under About Me, People, Pixel Bug Weekend

There will come a point in your life that you’ll long to see you old friends and just hang out. I know… cause despite the traffic this Sunday night, I braved it just to see my high school friends. It was a good feeling having to update yourself with what’s going on with your life and share a good laugh. How nice can that be?

And of course, who can resist these tempting food? such as the sizzling gambas……

My daily regimen

by on Feb.27, 2010, under About Me, Beauty and Personal Care, Photo Hunt

photohunter7iq PHOTOHUNT : DAILY

These are all part of my daily regimen. I love to moisturize my skin, experts say that’s the secret to younger looking skin. With no preference on the labels, I always put on a moisturizer on my face every morning before I go out and then body lotion. At night, the  regimen for my face is to cleanse, tone and moisturize. Before bedtime, I keep my lipbalm, eye cream and hand cream in handy.

The skin is the largest organ of our body and we need to take care of them :-)

PBW21: Renewal of Vows on Valentine’s day

by on Feb.14, 2010, under About Me, Married Life, Special Occasion

This weekend is a very special weekend as we celebrate two events in one day. Chinese New Year and Valentine’s both falling on the same date. Although, we are not Chinese, I am one in greeting our Chinese brothers, “Kung Hei Fat Choi!”

As for me and hubby, Valentine’s Day was never a big deal for us. Being married to a person who is not “as showy” when it comes to demonstrating his love and affection does not really bother me at all. I have come to accept my husband for whatever he is. The most important thing is that I know deep in my heart that he truly loves me.

However, as we heard mass this Sunday, our parish had a very cute way of celebrating Valentine’s Day. They called all the married coupled and conducted a “renewal of vows” ceremony. It was like getting married once again.  How mushy can that be :-)

Valentine Rose

“I renew my vow to you, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish till death do us part, according to God’s holy law.”

To my hubby (who I know seldom reads my blog posts), I would like to say “Thank You!” – for the love and respect you have showed me throughout our married life. For supporting in all my endeavors. For being my strength when I am down. For all that you are and all that you wish to be, I LOVE YOU!

I hope you all had a meaningful Valentine’s day! and Happy Chinese New Year!

PBW16 : More get together

by on Jan.10, 2010, under About Me, Events, Kids, People

Even though the Holidays are over, it didn’t stop me and fellow mom bloggers to have a get together. We have tried to make this happen during the holidays but with too much gatherings going on during the Christmas season, there is always a conflict. That’s why we ended up doing it after the holidays.

Mommy Bloggers

It was a fun Friday night! We brought our own share of food and did the usual exchange of gifts.

Saturday was also a time of get together with my co-parents from my son’s school as we participated in their family day. It was fun to meet all the moms and dads and catch up with each other as we watch our boys take part in the program and games.

PBW15: Welcome 2010!

by on Jan.03, 2010, under About Me, Family Get-Together, Pixel Bug Weekend, Special Occasion

First off, let me greet each and everyone of you a Happy New Year! For me, New Year signals new beginnings… a time to look forward to a more positive future. No matter how gloomy the predictions may be, no one knows what the future holds, it is up to us to make the most of what we have.

New Year greeting

Welcoming the new year is always extra special when you’re with your loved ones. My family, together with my mom and my siblings, have veered away from the usual fireworks at home. For the past couple of years, we decided to celebrate intimately by staying in a hotel and join the in-house countdown.

Lance collage

It’s a lot safer that way and we can still view the spectacular fireworks from the neighboring villages minus the smoke, ain’t that cool?

Nicole New Year

I hope that you and your family had a blast during your New Year’s celebration.
