PBW63: Christmas Fair
by SassyMom on Dec.13, 2010, under Christmas, Events, Pixel Bug Weekend
We’re back at my son’s school this Saturday, this time it’s their school’s Christmas Fair.

Yes, I accompanied him for soon I know he would not want me to join him just like his sister
There were lots of activities going on and as we waited for their performance, my friends decided to play the Bingo.

Luckily, one of my good friends won the “Blackout Bingo”. Congratulations to you and your family!

Then, it was the boy’s turn to show us their presentation. Truly, I am savoring these moments with my youngest, cause when he hits the teenage years… he’ll be on his own. By then, at least I can say that I have spent precious time with him.

My schedule’s getting crazier as Christmas approaches… Pardon my late post. Hope you all have a great week ahead!

PBW62: Celebrating Family Day
by SassyMom on Dec.05, 2010, under About Me, Events, Kids, People, Pixel Bug Weekend, Special Occasion
One of the things that are keeping me busy as a bee the past few weeks, is the preparation my son’s family day in school. Being a parent representative for their section, there were lots of tasks to prepare for Saturday’s big event.

Family days are conducted to promote unity amongst each member of the family and the school through presentations and other fun activities in an atmosphere of Goodwill and Camaraderie. There were celebrity guests, magician, and a variety of performance showcasing the talents from the students. Below is a photo op with Christian Bautista, and my fellow parents.

Of course, a family day will not be complete without games. In which, I together with a co-parent hosted.

Whew! That’s the highlight of our weekend. I hope you and your family had a fabulous as well.

PBW52: Sandalias Festival 2010
by SassyMom on Sep.26, 2010, under Events, Pixel Bug Weekend
I was fortunate to get an invite from Elro Corporation to attend the “Sandalias Festival 2010″. Together with other bloggers, we had fun as we graced this event. It is the culminating activity of a 2-day event.
Anyone can get an event pass for every purchase of Ipanema, Ipanema Gisele Bündchen, Grendha and Rider starting from September 1 until 12nn of September 26 (till 12 noon). The event was held at the Trinoma Activity Center where event pass holder can enjoy different activities such as Body Tattoo…
Nail Art…
Or take the challenge in wall climbing …
There were also other activities such as the Ride ‘N Surf challenge and for those aching soles, you can also avail of the free foot massage. We were also entertained by the Steps Dancers as they highlight the different footwear distributed by ELRO Corporation.
Of course, the highlight of the event was the chance to participate in Sandalias Festival’s most unique attraction – the Giant Piñata. It’s a giant Ipanema flip-flops filled with freebies including gift certificates from Ipanema, Ipanema Gisele Bündchen, Grendha, Rider and products from other sponsors – Lay Bare, Planet Sports, Dermclinic, Nivea Sun Immediate Protection Lotion, Orly Nail Lacquers , L’Oreal Paris for Men White Activ Moisturizer, Summit Media Magazines; as well as an air ticket to Boracay from Cebu Pacific air and a 3D/2N accommodation at Discovery Shores, Patio Pacific or Fairways and Bluewater.
Look at how the audience eagerly awaits the shower of prizes.
As for me, I didn’t get a lot from that shower of freebies but I am happy with my loot — An Ipanema Gisele Bündchen gift certificate. This is actually my favorite flip-flops.
I hope you enjoyed the weekend like I did. I’ll be glad to hear about how it turned out, just leave your link below.

PBW16 : More get together
by SassyMom on Jan.10, 2010, under About Me, Events, Kids, People
Even though the Holidays are over, it didn’t stop me and fellow mom bloggers to have a get together. We have tried to make this happen during the holidays but with too much gatherings going on during the Christmas season, there is always a conflict. That’s why we ended up doing it after the holidays.

It was a fun Friday night! We brought our own share of food and did the usual exchange of gifts.

Saturday was also a time of get together with my co-parents from my son’s school as we participated in their family day. It was fun to meet all the moms and dads and catch up with each other as we watch our boys take part in the program and games.

PBW14: High School Reunion
by SassyMom on Dec.20, 2009, under About Me, Events, Pixel Bug Weekend, Social Awareness
Christmas is indeed the most wonderful time of the year, however it also comes as the most stressful one with all the presents to buy, school and work activities to attend to and parties to grace your presence with.
Last Saturday do not only highlight this weekend’s activity but probably one of this year’s culminating activity for me… it was my High School Class Reunion. Months of preparation have been put into this, and I am honored to have been part of the organizing committees. Tough job? Yes, but it was truly been a rewarding and enriching experience where old friendships are re-established and new friendships were formed.
It was indeed a night of nostalgic fun where you get to touch base with old friends, reminisce the old times and update one another with what is going on. I was not present during the last reunion, the reason why I did a lot of catching up.
Twenty years after we stepped out of our Alma Mater is one event worthy of a celebration. This event did not only serve as a reunion for our class but more importantly, it was a fund raising event in an effort to give something back to our beloved school. During this event, I saw how great hearts opened up to this worthy cause. I could not help but thank the good Lord for touching the hearts of these people. The power of giving comes from a selfless act and is certainly very appropriate this season of Christmas, where we are reminded of how the Lord came into the world for all of us. And for our class, this is only the beginning…
I hope all of you enjoyed your weekend.
P.S. To all Pixelbug Weekenders : My apologies for not visiting your links lately, aside from the usual busy schedule this Christmas, this is what I am up to.

PBW10 : World Pyro Olympics 2009
by SassyMom on Nov.22, 2009, under Events, Parks and Recreational Places, Pixel Bug Weekend
UPDATE :I just got an update from my friend Noemi that the organizers of WPO have decided to postpone the rest of the fireworks show to a later date early next year. Ticket holders are requested to contact WPO hotline 568-6908 / 384-0239 or log on to their website for more details.
This week was the start of the World Pyro Olympics 2009 held at the Fort Open Grounds, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. I always wanted to attend this spectacular display of fireworks, however the past years venue was at the Mall of Asia, which is quite far from where we reside. This year was no excuse for me, as soon I knew about the schedule, I immediately blocked it off my calendar and thanks to a blogger friend, Noemi, I was able to watch it for free. Thanks so much Noemi and also to the organizers of WPO for making the venue more accessible this year!

The kids enjoyed it as well. Even as the skies shed down its tears, it did not dampen their spirits. We enjoyed snacks prior to the show. For this Saturday, it was Germany and China’s schedule to dazzle us with their fireworks and musical scores.
![]()
Although the skies were filled with clouds, I was able to shoot some photos good enough for posting here. I guess I’m still lucky that there were still photos that turned out okay. Out of a more than hundred shutter clicks, only a handful was satisfactory.
![]()
If you’ll notice, clouds are covering most of the fireworks. When it was time for China’s show, the rains poured really hard but I was unfazed. With my daughter holding the umbrella, I continue to shoot… just like a pro! just wishing
I was one with my kids as I enjoyed the greatest show on Earth.
