Today, my hubby’s niece, who happens to be my gad-daughter too, celebrated her 7th birthday. It was a simple family gathering for my hubby’s side of the family. An event like this is always a good excuse for them to bond.

A family get-together like this is also a chance for my kids to bond with their cousins. It just makes me happy to see them have a good time. Especially since the kids do not have cousins on my side of the family.

Regardless of how simple it is, birthdays should always be celebrated because it is a way of thanksgiving for the gift of a beautiful life.

To our dear Alyssa, Happy Birthday! I wish you happiness and content, and continue to be a sweet child and bring joy to your family. We love you!

]]> I just love weekends especially if there’s an event worth celebrating and of course, birthdays should always be remembered. Today, my hubby’s niece, who happens to be my gad-daughter too, celebrated her 7th birthday. It was a simple family gathering for my hubby’s side of the family. An event like this is always a good excuse for them to bond.

A family get-together like this is also a chance for my kids to bond with their cousins. It just makes me happy to see them have a good time. Especially since the kids do not have cousins on my side of the family.

The celebrant is the son of my high school batch mate. It was a themed party — “Disney Royalty” is the theme of choice. It was so cute to see all the children wearing the most adorable costumes. Of course, my son being a tweener refused to wear a costume.

This is probably the first theme party that I attended where even the parents wore costumes, like a King and Queen. Isn’t that cool?

Of course, a true Filipino party is not complete without Lechon.

Too bad I have to leave early because my son does not want to join the games anymore and he gets bored easily. It was truly a feast it for a prince. Happy Birthday, dear John Glenn!

It was a fun-filled weekend for us and I hope you also had a blast during the weekend.

]]> Last Saturday, me and my son attended a birthday party. The celebrant is the son of my high school batch mate. It was a themed party — “Disney Royalty” is the theme of choice. Kuya had his birthday bash last Friday with his friends and co-workers. My sister, hubs and I decided to join him for this special day. Although most of his visitors are people whom I hardly know but I don’t need to be acquainted with them to see how well-loved my brother is. I am very happy and proud to have a very hardworking brother. Someone whose perseverance is commendable that he can triumph everything he sets his heart into. I’m so proud of you, Kuya!

My BIL and his wife prepared the Easter Eggs for the kids to hunt. It was so nice to see them all over the place looking for those hidden eggs. It’s a tradition that I didn’t get to enjoy when I was a kid. The look on their faces upon finding their loot is truly priceless.

]]> After hearing Easter Sunday Mass, we headed to my MIL’s house to celebrate two occasions, Easter Sunday and the birthday of our nephew/godson.

My BIL and his wife prepared the Easter Eggs for the kids to hunt. It was so nice to see them all over the place looking for those hidden eggs. It’s a tradition that I didn’t get to enjoy when I was a kid. The look on their faces upon finding their loot is truly priceless.
