PBW20: Stationary Bike

by on Feb.07, 2010, under Health and Wellness, Pixel Bug Weekend

Weekend was nothing different from the usual busy schedule that I have. But perhaps, the highlight would be this stationary bike. It’s nothing out of the ordinary but for me it is a milestone in my hubby’s life.

We chanced upon this after doing our weekly grocery. No, I did not push him to buy it. In fact, it was he who spotted this equipment and to my surprise, he was really eager to buy it. To give you a brief history, I have been inviting hubs to join me every time I go to the gym but he refuses. Quite frankly, I have been very concern with his health ever since he stepped the big four-O. He, in fact, admitted that when he reached this age, he started feeling a lot of things, prompting him to have regular check – ups.

Recently, he’s been very conscious about what he eats, which brings a smile to my face. Ever since we got married this has been my struggle to make him eat more healthy foods but I guess it was just a matter of time before he realizes and now, he’s the one telling me to buy more of the foods and drinks that he don’t normally want to eat. At least, he’s now health conscious!

Now, the challenge is if he will regularly use this or will it remain to be one of the decorations in the house?

Project 365 : batch 7

by on Feb.06, 2010, under Project 365

32/365 – Eyeglasses – I hate to admit it but all the blogging and too much computer really puts a strain on my eyes. That’s why I need to wear this pair of eyeglasses.

33/265 – Candles to celebrate “Candle Mass Day” better known as “Candelaria”.

34/365 – It’s not only my eyes that is taking its toll on too much computer use but my wrist as well. I found this cute wrist support and immediately bought it.

PBW 18: Playful Kids

by on Jan.24, 2010, under Kids, Pixel Bug Weekend

If last week was an unusually relaxing one, this weekend was the exact opposite. It is the start of a hectic schedule for me. We ventured into another business and hopefully this one would work out well. However, this Sunday, I bought the whole family with me and made sure to go home early to relax and bond with the kids.

I just enjoy looking at them having loads of fun together, even if sometimes it annoys me especially when they get physical with each other. I just have to accept that kids are naturally playful. My teenage daughter, who has her moods nowadays was unusually kind to his brother — they usually get into each other’s nerves :-) But this time I was able to document their playfulness and I had fun!

And of course, this is me jumping in to join the fun.

PBW15: Welcome 2010!

by on Jan.03, 2010, under About Me, Family Get-Together, Pixel Bug Weekend, Special Occasion

First off, let me greet each and everyone of you a Happy New Year! For me, New Year signals new beginnings… a time to look forward to a more positive future. No matter how gloomy the predictions may be, no one knows what the future holds, it is up to us to make the most of what we have.

New Year greeting

Welcoming the new year is always extra special when you’re with your loved ones. My family, together with my mom and my siblings, have veered away from the usual fireworks at home. For the past couple of years, we decided to celebrate intimately by staying in a hotel and join the in-house countdown.

It’s a lot safer that way and we can still view the spectacular fireworks from the neighboring villages minus the smoke, ain’t that cool?

Nicole New Year

I hope that you and your family had a blast during your New Year’s celebration.

Regalo (Gift)

by on Dec.24, 2009, under Christmas, Litratong Pinoy

LP Button1

“It is better to give than to receive.”

PBW 12: Bazaar Weekend

by on Dec.06, 2009, under Baked Goodies, Christmas, Kids

Christmas is indeed a time for shopping however, it is also a chance for you to grab all the possible earning opportunities. This weekend, I was fortunate to get a place in a small bazaar. The prospect of earning a little cash was quite appealing. I thought of selling my baked goodies, maybe I can chance upon someone who may want to order for their Christmas gift giving, who knows? My kids also took the opportunity and wanted to sell their old clothes, or whats left of it –since most of it was donated to the recent typhoon.

It was the first time for me to sell old clothes since my hubby is not a fan of selling second hand items. His philosophy is to give what you do not use, which is a noble cause if I may say. But then, I was able to convince him telling him that I also wanted the kids to experience how to earn their own money. An entrepremom raising entreprekids.

So it was a weekend at the bazaar but instead of shopping for goods we were the ones selling. The turnout was quite okay for first timers like us. Most importantly the kids enjoyed the stint and learned a thing or two in selling. Here are my kids with my daughter’s friend and my house help.

PBW11: An early Christmas present

by on Nov.29, 2009, under Christmas, Pixel Bug Weekend, Special Occasion

Weekends before a big exam are always spent at home, that is our rule. As a mom, I try not schedule any activity during these weekends so the kids can concentrate on reviewing their lessons. Although it is a long weekend, a road trip would have been fitting but I am not complaining. I also want this much needed rest to regain my strength and to prepare myself for a very busy month.

In the photo below, my son is doing a mock up exam I have prepared. LOL! The poor guy woke up very early last Saturday to finish his Kumon and do one of the mock up tests.

Lance review

Weekend was not as dull as it seems, it was actually an exciting one for me. Hubs and I went out to buy his early Christmas gift for me…. my new TOY!

My new Laptop

Now, I just finished transferring my files to my backup hard drive and enjoying my new toy. Super duper thanks to my Hubs! Mwah!

What about you? How did your weekend go? Share it with us …

As we tied the knot…

by on Oct.24, 2009, under About Me, Married Life, Photo Hunt

photohunter7iq PHOTOHUNT : TIED

Wedding ring

The wedding ring is one of the symbols of your social and spiritual union with your spouse. As you tie the knot, two lives will become one. It is a beautiful gift.

Many years ago, I have made this promise and to this day. I still wore the same ring that tied my life to the person I love. There is no perfect marriage, for the very reason that we, humans are not perfect. A lot of trials and conflicts will come your way. Personally, I believe there are four components of marriage that makes it work, LOVE, TRUST, RESPECT and more importantly FAITH. Faith on your love — that you can weather all the storms that will come, Faith in yourself — that you can give more in order to make things work, FAITH in the LORD — that He will guide and bless you and your union.

Marriage is a work in progress…. for it to be a happy ever after.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.(Proverbs 3:5,6)

Happy Weekend!
